| Several Additions/Remodels/Storm Damage Repair work for CF & Laurie Hopkins
Morganton, North Carolina

Adding a new entry way was a "must-do" according to the Hopkins. The previous roof line did not include the dormer and it produced a cave-like effect on the front entry. Using a bit of imagination we were able to create one of the more spectacular entries in Morganton through the use of skylights, exposed wood and an arch that mimics the lines found in the garage.

Another project was creating an outdoor living area. Here the plans extended the roof to make a beautiful covered porch and breezeway that is usable almost all year long. Laurie Hopkin's sense of style and artistry gives the space a final touch of pizazz as it invites you to simply sit and have a glass of tea.

Almost squished by the tree this artist get-away is as good as new!

One of our more memorable projects is this small playroom for the Hopkin's daughter. Vegter Builder's carpenters made this house in separate pieces at an old furniture factory and then transported it to the property right before Christmas. After furious puzzle-like activity we finally got it all together just in time for Santa to show it off Christmas morning.

If you look at the picture below you can see all the work we had to do to repair the roof. The tree came down almost perfectly between the two outer buildings and smashed into the roof above the kitchen, laundry, and living room. Vegter Builders was able to put the house back together and even put in a few tray ceilings and other touches that the Hopkins had always wanted.
